The Bootham School Observatory, built 1901, contains, amongst other instruments, the 4” refracting telescope made for the School in 1852 by Thomas Cooke of York.
There are two sessions available. places are limited to 10 people per session so early booking is highly recommended. When making a booking please state your preferred session: 7.30pm to 8.30pm or 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian at all times.
Entry to the School is from the end of Portland Street and parking is available on site.
Your visit to the Observatory may involve climbing a foot ladder so please wear sensible footwear.
