Welcome to Community Science
Science City York works extensively in the community promoting science and technology, along with potential careers within these industries, through a number of public events and initiatives.
Working with partners, Science City York aims to assist the local community find out about contemporary scientific issues, access skills and training to support future career and progression opportunities.
Science City York’s community activities include:
- York Festival of Science and Technology that takes place every year in March, coinciding with National Science and Engineering Week. The festival features a wide variety of events for all the family.
- Café Scientifique York is a monthly discussion forum, which provides an opportunity for the public to come along and hear about contemporary scientific issues in an open and discussion orientated environment.
- Science Bite Size Tasters give an introduction to science-related adult education and family learning opportunities in York.
Science City York also works extensively with local schools and colleges to organise other events each year.
