Askham Bryan College
Askham Bryan College has an excellent reputation for the high quality of the education it provides. CNAP is part of the Department of Biology at the University of York. It is dedicated to undertake and commercialise world class research directed at the use of plants and microbes as economically viable cell factories for the manufacture of novel industrial products. CSL (Central Science Laboratory)
CSL is an Executive Agency of the UK Government Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. It specialises, with the vision to be a centre of excellence, in the sciences underpinning agriculture for sustainable crop production, environmental management and conservation and in food safety and quality. Arising from the research CSL carries out is a wide range of analytical, diagnostic and consultancy services designed to support the international land-based and food industries.

National Science Learning Centre

The National Science Learning Centre opened in Autumn 2005. It is housed in a purpose built, high-tech venue at the University of York, and provides professional development for science teachers and technicians across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It also performs a supportive role for the communications and ICT infrastructure for the Science Learning Centres network. The aim of the centre is to upgrade the quality of professional development on offer to teachers, technicians and support staff.

NRM (National Railway Museum)
The National Railway Museum in York is the largest railway museum in the world. The museum is responsible for the conservation and interpretation of the British national collection of historically significant railway vehicles and other artefacts.
