Welcome to the New Creative Sector Specialist for Science City York
Heather Niven is the new Creative Sector Specialist for Science City York. Heather will be responsible for providing development guidance and support to creative companies and individuals in N Yorks.
With a background in both the private and public sector as well as experience as a self employed artist, Heather brings a broad range of skills and experience to the Creative York network.
'In my role with Science City York I am keen to move the creative sector to the next stage, providing opportunities for skills development, networking and training amongst members of Creative York' says Heather.
'I am keen to raise the profile of the sector substantially, seeking collaborative opportunities and events to use as a vehicle for the promotion of ALL types of creative businesses.'
Science City York also provides business guidance and funding for new and developing creative businesses in North Yorkshire, in cases where technology plays a part in the business.
Heather would like to provide opportunities for all creative individuals and companies to investigate the use of technology, which can add value to the creative process and can provide potential for lucrative ‘spin-off’ products without jeopardizing the ‘quality of life’ justifiably prized by many creative individuals and companies.
