is pleased to invite you to a Creative York Networking Evening
on Tuesday 7 June 2005
at the Music Research Centre, University of York, York


Creative York would like to invite you and your colleagues to the next Creative York Networking Evening to be held Tuesday 7 June 2005. The evening will feature a short presentation from Dr Tony Myatt, of the Music Research Centre and performances by Frances Rowberry and Katherine Garvey and Dr Ambrose Field. There will also be an opportunity to view the current exhibition by York artist Laurence Burt in celebration of his 80th birthday. The evening will include refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, providing a great opportunity to meet and mingle with your fellow Creative York cluster members.

Presentations
Tony Myatt will introduce the work of the Music Department and the Music Research Centre. The facilities will be showcased and two performances will illustrated the diversity of the work within the Music Department.
Frances Rowberry and Katherine Garvey will give an Early Music performance and Dr Ambrose Field a performance of 'Electronic Music in Surround Sound'.

The format of the evening is:
6:00pm Registration, wine & networking
6:30pm Presentation and performances by the University of York Music Department
7:00pm Hors d’oeuvres, wine & networking, with opportunities to view 'Things Out Of Mind'.
8:00pm Close

Venue information
The Music Research Centre is attached to the Music Department and houses professional standard acoustic and recording facilities, exclusively for postgraduate student and research use. The building has been designed to the highest acoustic standard and includes the UK's premier listening environment for reproduced sound - the 150 seat Rymer Auditorium.
'Things out of Mind' an Exhibition of Objects and Images by Laurence Burt is currently on display in the Roslyn Lyons Art Gallery in the Music Research Centre.

Although this is a free event there are number restrictions therefore booking is essential.
